The MOT Service
Firstly, use our online booking software to get your vehicle MOT booked. Remember you only pay when the MOT is complete. On the day of your test, simply arrive at the local MOT centre and wait in our customer seating area. We can allocate you a courtesy car if booked in advance. Please mention this when you book your MOT so we can reserve a vehicle. The test normally takes around 45 minutes so you may want to just wait on site.
If you’re local to us then we can collect your car and return to you with the work completed. We can also drop you home once you’ve delivered the car to us. If your current MOT has expired then you can only drive the vehicle to us if you have a test in place to avoid any penalties. We do offer Vehicle Transportation if you need the vehicle collected from your address.
You may find that it’s cheaper to carry out a Service at the same time as your MOT. Please get in contact to discuss or you can book online via the links.
For any special requests then please get in contact with the garage and we can arrange your MOT and extras.

MOT Road Test – Key Checks
Our MOT garage may have to fail a vehicle for a build up of basic points. Heres a couple of checks to think about before the day.
Windscreen and Wipers
The windscreen is checked for chips and cracks with a maximum 10mm chip in the drivers eye-line. The wipers are checked to ensure good road vision is maintained.
Brakes, Wheels and Tyres
The cars braking quality and operation are tested. The tyres are checked to be in a good condition with the correct tyre size and tread depth remaining.
A simple check before arriving is to ensure that all of your vehicles lights are operational and the correct colour. We will check the aim of the lights are correct.
The registration plate accounts for around 4% of all fails. Ensure its in a good overall condition with the letters, numbers and spacing adhering to guidelines.
MOT Garage Checks
Your local MOT centre will check much more including Vehicle Identification Number, Steering and Suspension, Horn, Seats and Seatbelts, Emissions and the Fuel System, Bodywork and Brakes.
The laws for an MOT changed in May 2018 and saw the removal of the ‘advisory notices’. Defects are now being marked as dangerous, major or minor. For full details of the changes Click Here
